  • My productions are families of images whose objects are territories (Mediterranean coasts, Trinidad and Tobago, London…) as well as various themes (concrete, housing, consumption, work…) These families can appear under different forms such as exhibitions, portfolio or slide shows.

Whether it be portraits or landscapes, the images tend to suggest a physical experience where a visual synthesis reveals what you can see and what you cannot see in a given situation. I always do my best to create a distance which I estimate to be the accurate one, to elaborate an image of the subject. This specific distance which I photograph is like a threshold, I mean a moment of passage which appears to be the decisive instant of vision or of experience but also of social relationships.

Photography creates archives and any wish to reach totality is utterly impossible as a photo always keeps a dimension you cannot have anticipated. The program is always hindered by the necessities of reality, and it is precisely the mixture between the project and the material conditions to achieve it that makes the photo. The setting catches away the images from only the documentary aspect, interferes with the objects of the inquiries and as a consequence makes the seriousness of the work fall into unusualness and fancy.
